My friends, here’s a story that never ends ;o)

Posted on: May 4, 2009

Once upon a time there lived a child~woman named Preet in a place called Snowcouver.. Most of the time, she was happy~content with her electrically heated nest, but the incessant winter woes eventually dampened her spirits.. So she spread her irridescent wings & along with her equally colourful friend named Saima, decided it was time to fly South to soak in the Mexican Sunshine..

They flew to a southern paradise of Cancun.. As they arrived, they immediately felt the warm solar embrace upon their jetlagged wings.. The image of Snowcouver faded from their short term memories as they eagerly entered the land of perpetual sunshine.. Their wings now shone with greater intensity>> such brilliance of colour!! As they caressed their beautiful yet strong wings in the slight breeze by the beach, they joked with each other..

Saima ~the inventive busines woman that she was~ wondered aloud: “Preet I bet the Indian fashion designers would love to get their hands on our pretty wings.. Just to have their chance at imitating such heavenly shades in their 2009 collection of saris, lehangas, salwar~kameez and shararas. Perhaps we should look into this lucrative venture.. What say??”

Preet ~her imagination working overtime~ replied: “Saima, what if we are being tracked by some sort of GPS or maybe through Google Earth by Manish Malhotra’s spies?? We should be careful, he’s quite the ambitious one.. I heard that he might be here with bf Karan Johar on the pretense of shooting the next Bolly~Buster.. Hmm, I wonder what Karan Johar will name his next flick?”

Saima: “Preet, you’re gettin’ off-topic.. But you have a point, our wings may just lure them here.. Remember Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?? Manish transformed that Kajol into such a pari with all his fancy outfits.. We must stay vigilant, for he might just try to capture us for our magical wings.. I wouldn’t be happy if he turned our wings into an outfit for the catty Katrina or that kutty Kareena..”

Preet: “I am still stuck on what Karan Johar might name his next flick.. It always has to start with the bloody ‘K.’ Since Slumdog Millionaire turned out to be such a global hit, Karan might make it’s Indian version titled KUTTA KARORPATI BANN GAYA.. ya fir, KAHANI KARORPATI KUTTEY KI or K4 to make it sound catchy.. haha!!
Imagine, the film would end with Karan’s Kutta ~starring Manish Malhotra himself~ wagging his fancy tail on celluloid, fully embellished with the magical~technicoloured feathers stolen from our wings.. Perhaps, Karan’s film will also make it to the Oscars and we will be invited to showcase the wings that inspired him.. JUST IMAGINE..”

Saima: “I can totally imagine that.. Since Danny Boyle used the music genius A.R. Rahman to score the track of Slumdog Millionaire, Karan might go the opposite & get BOW WOW or his uncle Snoop Dogg to rap it up for his KKBG or K4 or K whatever.. Gosh, lately the world seems to have turned upside-down.. The westerners are loving all things South~Asian.. Them Brits & their obssession with the subcontinent!! They can’t seem to get enough of the chicken tikka masala.. They’d just love to get their pasty hands on hum jaisi sunaharey paron wali kuriyan :o).. Them Brits need to stop drooling all over their Burberry knitwear.. HAHA!! Gosh, I wonder what Manish gonna design for us to wear to the Oscars……….”

Their flightful fancy lulled them.. They fell asleep right on the beach, as the Hypnotiq Blue Carribean waves gently stroked their feet…… Their wings now reflected the deeper, more glamourous hues as the sun slowly kissed the sea on the horizon.. The night gave birth to the silver moon and it cast its lovely soft glow on the sleeping girls.. They slept well, knowing they will wake up to another brilliant day to energize their spirited wings..

My friends this is a story that never ends~ So I invite you to take your own flight of fancy and add to it.. I’d love to read what you might add~

~LOVE ALWAYS~
PS: there are quite a few bollywood references.. I’m a fan of this fantasy churning cinematic machine in Mumbai.. What can I say :o)
